Our Mission

Transforming breast health. For every woman.

At Boca Breast Imaging Center, you'll experience the most innovative breast screening technology available anywhere — and you can walk in completely at ease.

There is nothing to brace for: no radiation, no painful compression, no injections. You simply rest face-down while warm water and gentle sound waves do the work, producing images so detailed your care team can see what older technology could miss. It feels less like a medical exam and more like a moment of calm — futuristic care, designed entirely around your comfort and your peace of mind.

Safe & Comfortable

No radiation. No compression. No contrast.

You lie comfortably face-down while each breast rests naturally in a warm water bath — a quiet, gentle, FDA-cleared scan that makes regular screening something you no longer dread.

Made for Every Woman

Clear answers, even where mammograms struggle

Dense breast tissue, implants, or reasons you can't have an MRI shouldn't stand between you and an accurate answer. The QT Acoustic Scanner produces detailed 3D images with resolution similar to MRI.

How It Works

Sound waves and warm water, not X-rays

The QT scanner gently sends safe sound waves through the breast from every angle, then reconstructs them into a detailed 3D picture — two independent views of the same tissue, captured in one comfortable scan.

Quantitative Transmission (QT) Imaging

What is QT imaging? An inherently 3D volumetric imaging modality — 3D data acquisition combined with mathematical image reconstruction gives it high resolution, similar to MRI.

Transmission

Speed-of-sound mapping

A CT-like configuration uses ultrasound to acquire and reconstruct transmission images, mapping the speed of sound across the entire tissue volume — a capability unique to QT’s technology.

Reflection

High-resolution tissue interfaces

A reflection configuration depicts tissue interfaces in fine detail — ducts, Cooper’s ligaments, lesion boundaries — and improves lesion visualization: cancers show irregular, heterogeneous reflective signatures.

Who It Helps

Answers for the women mammograms leave behind

Accurate diagnosis in dense breasts

High breast density affects 40–50% of U.S. women ages 40–74 and reduces mammography’s sensitivity. QT’s 3D quantitative ultrasound is designed to perform better in dense tissue — clearer delineation, earlier detection where mammography may fail.

Safe imaging without X-ray exposure

Mammograms use ionizing radiation. QT uses only safe sound waves — a radiation-free, 3D alternative with no X-rays, no compression, and no contrast injection.

An option when MRI isn’t

Implants, pacemakers, claustrophobia, or contrast allergies keep some women out of the MRI suite. QT provides high-resolution imaging without MRI’s constraints — safe access to quality imaging for these patients.

Enhanced imaging with implants

Implants distort traditional modalities. QT’s comfortable prone positioning enables comprehensive volumetric imaging and improved visualization of tissue and implant boundaries.

Fewer false alarms & follow-ups

Mammography often triggers extra follow-ups — hand-held ultrasounds, MRIs, biopsies — that raise anxiety and cost. QT’s quantitative biomarkers can improve specificity, reduce false positives, and streamline your diagnostic path.

Consistent results, every visit

Hand-held ultrasound depends heavily on who holds the probe. QT’s fixed-gantry acquisition and automated reconstruction deliver standardized, reproducible imaging — the same high quality, every time.

Clinical Value

Value for your entire care team

The QT Acoustic Scanner delivers quantitative, reproducible imaging that strengthens decision-making for every specialist involved in diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up.

A radiologist reviews breast images at a workstation

For the Radiologist

Dense-breast triage, high recall rates, and false positives are daily challenges. Quantitative imaging improves dense-breast visualization — strengthening confidence and reducing unnecessary recalls.

A clinician studies detailed breast imaging on screen

For the Radiation Oncologist

Breast preservation therapy and dose planning demand precision. QT delivers precise image quality and quantitative biomarkers supporting more accurate, biology-guided radiation therapy.

A physician consults warmly with her patient

For the Medical Oncologist

Personalized therapy and treatment monitoring need clear signals. QT enables precision phenotyping through quantitative biomarkers — better personalization, clearer monitoring during treatment.

Surgeons at work in the operating room

For the Surgeon

Accurate lesion characterization reduces surgical risk. QT combines high-quality imaging with biomarker-driven precision — better planning, lower risk of incomplete or excessive intervention.

Patient Experience

Comfort that inspires compliance

Over 35% of women aged 40–70 skip routine mammograms due to pain or fear of callbacks. The QT Breast Acoustic CT™ was designed to remove pain, fear, and barriers: the patient lies face-down on a padded table while each breast rests naturally in a warm water bath. No compression. No claustrophobic enclosure. No contrast injection.

The breast retention device (BRD) is applied to the breasts.

The patient lies on the scanner table, lowering one breast into water.

The breast is magnetically secured between the BRD and the retention rod.

The breast is scanned — roughly 10–20 minutes, depending on breast size.

The process repeats on the second breast.

A no-radiation, non-invasive, non-intimidating process for screening breast health. Every woman should know about this technology.

— J.B., Patient

I actually look forward to coming back to get my breast imaging. I’ve never said that before — the whole experience is night and day.

— C.K., Patient

I had signs of implant rupture and was in too much pain for a mammogram. From the QTScan I was able to confirm the rupture and its location to pursue surgery.

Your Clinical Journey

Where the QT scan fits in your care

Mammography and MRI remain the established standard of care. The QT Acoustic Scanner was developed to complement and enhance that standard — not replace it.

The Standard of Care Has Limits

Where today’s tools fall short

  • Mammography uses ionizing radiation and has reduced sensitivity in women with dense breast tissue — where cancers are more likely to be missed.
  • MRI offers high sensitivity but requires contrast injection, and is costly, time-consuming, and not widely accessible for routine use.
How QT Complements It

Enhancing your standard of care

  • Safe, radiation-free sound waves produce 3D tomographic images with excellent visualization of tissue structure and quantitative biomarkers.
  • An advanced alternative to MRI for many high-risk women — similar diagnostic image quality and resolution, without the high cost, contrast risks, or limited accessibility.
  • AI-driven biomarkers — speed-of-sound, attenuation, tissue heterogeneity — enhance diagnostic confidence.
